169 Seconds: In Bruges and What It Means to Be Human

Director Martin McDonagh tackles existential and universal questions in his dark and funny crime thriller In Bruges from 2008.  The film gives an uplifting answer to the question “what does it mean to be human”? The film is essentially a tale of compassion and love in the face of absurdity and frailty. In this jubilee instalment of 169 Seconds, Jesper Haarup Borchmann zooms in on the humanism of the film.
